We have deep roots within Communicare, a 97-year-old leading social and affordable housing provider operating in the Cape Town area with increasingly diversified property holdings. We are grounded in eight years of intentional, evidence-based programme delivery, transforming lives through education, skills development and community resilience.
The Communicare family abides by a Group Governance Framework that provides a structured and consistent approach to governance across Communicare NPC and its subsidiaries. Our Framework aligns with applicable laws, regulations and best practices, and promotes ethical conduct, risk management and internal control. The Framework further facilitates clear reporting lines and supports the achievement of the Group’s strategic objectives while safeguarding stakeholder interests.
Vulamathuba is registered as a Non-Profit Company (NPC) with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission under the Companies Act, 71 of 2008, as amended and as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) with the Department of Social Development. We are also approved by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) under Section 30 of the Income Tax Act, 58 of 1962, as amended. This means we are authorised to issue Section 18A receipts, allowing corporate and individual donors to claim a tax deduction on qualifying donations, so your contribution goes further at no additional cost to you.
